CUSTOM FOOT ORTHOTICS IN BALTIMORE

Together we’ll get your feet feeling better

Personalized custom foot orthotics designed around your feet, your biomechanics and the way you live.

At Propel Custom Orthotics, every patient begins with a comprehensive pedorthic evaluation designed to understand how your feet function—not simply where they hurt.

A More Personalized Approach to Orthotics

01 — Evaluate

I begin with a comprehensive pedorthic and biomechanical evaluation. I'll discuss your concerns, activities, footwear, previous orthotics, and goals.

02 — Analyze

I’ll assess your foot function, biomechanics, footwear, and the factors that may be contributing to your symptoms or limitations.

03 — Design

If custom orthotics are appropriate for you, I develop a prescription based on your individual needs—not a generic template.

04 — Fit

Your custom orthotics are dispensed and fitted with attention to your footwear and how you intend to use them.

05 — Follow Up

Your care doesn't end when you leave with your orthotics. I want to make sure they're comfortable, functioning properly, and meeting your goals.

Not Every Foot Needs the Same Orthotic

Your feet are unique. Your activity level is unique. Your footwear is unique.

So your orthotics shouldn't come from a one-size-fits-all approach.

Propel Custom Orthotics combines detailed biomechanical evaluation, footwear assessment, clinical experience, and advanced custom orthotic technology to develop a solution tailored to your individual needs.

Whether you're an athlete trying to perform at your best, an active adult who wants to stay active, or someone who's struggled with foot discomfort for years, Propel takes the time to understand the whole picture.

Why Propel Custom Orthotics?

28+ Years of Experience

Experience matters when you're dealing with something as individual as foot biomechanics.

ABC Certified

You receive care from a nationally certified pedorthist specializing in the relationship between the feet, footwear, and lower extremity function.

Individualized Evaluation

I don't simply scan your feet and hand you a pair of inserts. I take the time to understand you and your specific needs.

Footwear Matters

Your orthotics don't exist in isolation. I evaluate the shoes you actually wear and consider how footwear interacts with your orthotics.

Experience With Complex Needs

Propel brings extensive experience working with athletes, pediatric patients, high-risk patients, and complex foot and ankle conditions.

Already Have Orthotics?

Not Getting the Results You Expected?

An orthotic can be technically well-made and still not be the right solution for you.

If your current orthotics are uncomfortable, aren't fitting well in your shoes, or simply aren't giving you the results you expected, bring them with you to your evaluation.

I'll look at your existing devices, your footwear, and how everything is working together.

Your Footwear Is Part of the Solution

Your shoes can have a significant impact on how an orthotic functions.

That's why Propel encourages patients to bring their favorite or most frequently worn footwear to their initial appointment.

I'll consider:

Your feet + your orthotics + your shoes + your activities,

rather than looking at any one of these factors in isolation.

Are Custom Orthotics Right for You?

Custom orthotics may be worth considering if you're experiencing:

  • Persistent foot or arch discomfort

  • Heel or plantar discomfort

  • Difficulty tolerating prolonged standing or walking

  • Problems during running or other athletic activities

  • Recurrent foot discomfort despite changing footwear

  • Difficulty with existing orthotics

  • A desire for a more individualized alternative to over-the-counter inserts

The first step isn't buying an orthotic. It's determining whether an orthotic is appropriate for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a prescription?

No, a prescription is only required if you intend to seek reimbursement through your health insurance or HSA/FSA. Propel can provide appropriate clinical documentation to help with that process.

Do you accept insurance?

Propel Custom Orthotics does not accept insurance assignment. You are responsible for payment at the time of service, and I can provide documentation for you to submit to your insurance company.

How much does the evaluation cost?

The initial pedorthic/biomechanical evaluation is $50. If you decide to proceed with custom foot orthotics, the evaluation fee is applied toward the cost of your orthotics.

How long does an appointment take?

Allow approximately about 1 hour for your initial evaluation.

What if I've had orthotics before?

That's completely fine—and I'd actually like to see them. Bring your current and previous orthotics to your appointment so I can evaluate them as part of your overall assessment.

Will custom orthotics work for everyone?

No. And that's an important part of Propel's philosophy.

The purpose of your evaluation is to determine whether custom orthotics are an appropriate option for your individual needs.
